Night Scene
This utility box was comissioned by Kery County Council and Tralee Tidy towns and it is located on Rock St in Tralee. As a vibrant public art project, this initiative higlights the power of community engagement and artistic expression in enhancing the urban landscape.

Painted in 2021, the recent lockdown experiences were etched in the collective memories of everyone and I chose to pay homage to that in my design. In response to the brief's requirement of relevance to the area, I chose to depict Rock St at night, capturing the distinctive architectural charm of the locale.

The shared experience of lockdown is symbolised by portraying the solitude and introspection that accompanied those days spent indoors. The overarching color palette features moody blues and indigos, effectively capturing the somber and contemplative mood that permeated that time. The pops of amber in the windows unifies the figures inside, representing the sense of community that shone through during challenging times.
